I decided to pay a visit to Some Things Fishy today. First of all, I was very pleased to hear that Peter, the old buisiness "partner," is not affiliated with the store anymore. The livestock selection is starting to get pretty respectable, mostly regarding the fish selection. There were a lot of yellow tangs, fire gobies, and chromis, as well as a panther grouper, a twin spot wrasse, and the other fish that were listed on the store's update thread from the other day. As far as coral goes, there were some LPS and softies in addition to several SPS. While I would have loved to see more SPS, I respect that Cristina and the store owner have not packed a lot of SPS in the tanks while they are still recovering from the transition from one owner to the current one. As far as the recovery itself goes, the tanks are well on their way to being completely rehabilitated; the nitrates are on their way down and the tanks are looking very nice. The dry goods and food selection is limited, but I'm sure it is just a matter of time before they are fully stocked. Cristina is doing a great job with maintenance and was able to answer all of the questions I had. All in all, I think that the store is still in recovery mode, but definately getting respectable. I think that once the store stocks up on dry goods and some nice aquacultured corals, it will be much better. __________________
